The Regency Residence Architect's are in town to discuss progress

Mr. Min Woo, the Korean Architect of the Regency Residence was accompanied by Mr. Harold Thompson, the Interior designer of the Regency Residence. Both stayed in Mongolia for nearly a week to discuss progress and future plans for the Regency Residence. Mr Min Woo met the Mongolian architects for lengthy discussions concerning the project while Mr Thompson started designing the interior of the building. Both Mr. Thompson and Mr. Mon Woo travelled extensively over the city to draw inspiration from its unique character and its surrounding countryside. Mr Thompson is trying to design a lobby which in itself will be unique in Mongolia using a large central fireplace as a focus point to the visitors to the building, it will draw people in to sit in the comfortable couches in the lobby area as well as intice people to go to the open kitchen restaurant for an evening meal or drink a coffee with views on the Boghd Khan range of mountains. Mr Thompson will also design the health club, the restaurant and indeed the apartments and penthouses.

The water pipes are moved

The water pipes have finally been moved after some delay due to the lack of the final go ahead from the city, authorisation was finally given to move the pipes at 03:00 am on the 25th of July. New pipes and reservoirs have been placed on the southern edge of the site. The new pipes have been inspected and the work approved by the government.

The construction also stumbled upon a large sewage reservoir which was not present on the drawings, permission thus had to be obtained to demolish it, it had to be pumped out and finally destroyed.

Excavation is progressing and the initial layer of concrete for the foundations is being laid. The crane has completely arrived and the foundations for the crane have been completed.
