Tourism is becoming an increasingly important aspect of the Mongolian economy. While the traditional tourism season is relatively short (from May to October), the demand for tourism products in Mongolia is increasing every year as the country becomes more and more accessible. The great Nadaam games of 2006 have brought a big boost to the numbers of tourists to Mongolia while the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will also be a boost to the local tourist visitors. As the tourist dynamic change, less backpackers, more high net worth individuals the infrastructure needed to host the tourists is also changing with time, a Shangri Hotel and a Hilton hotel are currently under construction to serve this ever growing segment of industry.
